I’ve been dating my boyfriend for a month now, and I feel like I’m already falling for him. I want to tell him “I love you,” but I’m scared it might come across as too fast and freak him out. Do you think it’s okay, or should I wait?
3.2K opinions shared on Dating topic. You know you're 100% right those words especially in the beginning of a relationship scares guys and I mean they freak out freeze up they don't know what to say or do because they haven't heard that in such a long time. But I mean there's a couple ways you can go about it I mean Valentine's Day is coming up you can do it then... Or you can just push him up against the wall and say hey I got this crazy idea but I really need to tell you about it what would you do to someone you knew pushed you up against the wall and said hey I think I'm falling in love with you big boy you know you don't have to put the big boy in there just you know but you can do it romantically you can do it funny wise I mean you can have a helicopter with a banner saying I love you Bobby I just said Bobby because that's the only banner they had you say look that's the helicopter I got for you I don't know Bobby is though. The depending on who the guy is I mean he's either going to like it love it or you're going to scare him to death so you have to have plan b just in case

1 yI personally don’t think anyone can know anyone else well enough to actually love them after knowing them 1 month but that is based on my definition of what love is and my life experience.
I would advise you to say those words for when more appropriate time wise , and use others which can convey how much you feel for him without saying “ I love you “. The reason being that his definition will almost def differ from yours and depending on what his is this could lead him to think that you are forcing it or rushing it neither of which as desirable. If love is forever then what is the rush in saying it first ?00 Reply
Anonymous(18-24)1 yYou can, but that’s a little early. A lot of people haven’t even had sex after a month (if you’re serious about each other and don’t want to rush things). I would say wait a couple months unless he says it first. If he dies, then definitely say it back.

You don't have to drop the L-Bomb if you think he's not ready to hear it. Maybe just tell him you've got real feelings for him and gauge his response. If the idea of feelings scare him then the L word might make him $h! T bricks...

1 yWhen you feel it's right, do it. There is no time limit.
01 Reply It’s sweet that you’re feeling so strongly, but it might be a bit soon to say “I love you” after just a month. Instead, express how much you care and appreciate him, and see how he responds. Let things develop naturally, without rushing into big declarations.

It’s great that you’re feeling that way, but saying "I love you" after a month might feel too soon for some people. If you’re unsure, gauge his feelings first maybe express how much you care and see how he responds. No rush, let things develop naturally!

1 yYou know, girls can get scared off, too, by a guy who says it too early. I once lost a great girl because I told her my feelings too early. She wasn't ready. Then she asked me if I could be patient until she knew. At first that sounded okay, I was willing to take a chance and wait, but I finally realized that it was foolish. I had to move on, because I might wait forever for nothing! It never pays to wait around for someone.

1 yIf you really love him, then YESS!! TELL HIM!!! Don’t worry about freaking him out or anything. I'm sure you'll always get it with that "me too, but I was worried that you'd think I was going too fast, too!" You know you love a person when you know you love a person. there's no right or wrong or guideline to what you should do.

Nothing wrong with that.
Remember this is the moment of truth, that'll be revealed, that so many people are chicken scared of (especially girls). My advice to you is assuming the worst and you'll be relatively unscathed after. Let surprises surprise you.

Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yI tho k it’s always best for the man to say it first. A lot of times women tend to know quicker how they feel about a man. Men, it takes us a little longer. So if you spring that on him right now you may put him on the spot. Which may backfire because he may not say the same thing in return. Which more than likely is going to hurt your feelings.
00 ReplyIt might be a little early to say "I love you" after just a month, especially if you’re unsure how he feels. If you say it too soon, it could come off as rushed or overwhelming for him. Take your time and let the relationship grow naturally before expressing those feelings.

Asker1 yi think its normal not early
1 yInitially, I'd probably put it more in terms of "I just might be catching feelings..." Not quite as definitive as a solid "I love you." and allows room to back off if it's too early, depending on his response.

1 yIt depends. Do you really feel it and feel you should at this point of this relationship to the said person? If yeah, then it's okay. But I feel no one should ever tell anyone they love someone just cuz they feel they 'have' to or want it to be said back to them.

1 yIt's probably a little soon for most relationships, but I don't know what the reality of your relationship is. Maybe wait a little while longer. Stuff like that can get weird if the person isn't expecting it.

1 yYou can, but just as you're worried, it might scare him off.
Unfortunately nobody here can help you any more, since we don't know your boyfriend. :(

1 yIf you guys are already dating and being intimate, why would saying 'I love you' scare him away? Unless you’ve secretly got a scary ‘I love you’ delivery, it should just bring you closer right?

1 yIf you do, then you are saying it to a lie because you don't really know him. If you can only truly love someone you know, then what, or whom are you in love with...
00 Reply 8.5K opinions shared on Dating topic. I think it is too early. One time I sort of got ahead of myself and blurted it out after dating for 5 weeks.

1 yTechnically you should be able to. Realistically it would be quite an expression, unless possibly meant platonically.
