Could anyone tell me why it’s illegal for me to date a girl I was obsessed with for a freak year?

I wanted to be with this girl since I saw her. She’s very pretty and smart not counting shy. Her dad is very overprotective over her if I’m caught around her I’m In deep trouble with my job. He told me one day to stay completely away from his daughter so that what I have been doing but she gets upset that I’m ignoring her.
