She's not allowed to date? what do I do?

We dated for a month and then told her parents. They said she isn't allowed to and she's not going to go against them. We are both twenty. She told me its never going to happen and that she probably will never be allowed to date? She said her feelings are changing because of the situation. And that even if she does like me right now, she has to accept the fact that nothing is ever going to happen.

She comes from a traditional Indian family where talking of dating is something she can easily talk about with parents. Any advice on what I could do to make the situation more favorable? I really want to date her.

I come from a traditional Chinese family where I wasn't allowed to date throughout highschool because my parents thought it would interfere with schoolwork. I didn't have my first boyfriend until I was in college. So, I can understand what she is going through even though she's a bit older than me.

She's an adult and I know going against her parents is going to be hard. Trust me, I've been there. But she needs to stand up for herself and tell them that she is going to date you and that there is nothing they can do to stop her. She needs to learn to stand on her own 2 feet, even if that means she needs to move out and find her own place.

If she doesn't live at home then you guys can continue to date in secret and her parents will never be the wiser. Sneaky yes, but it'll work. You dated for a month before her parents knew. Just continue doing that
