Is it fair to date someone if you don’t give it your all?

Like there are always talks about how time is precious and you can’t turn back time well what if that time isn’t properly invested meaning giving it to someone who was giving half effort

I guess if you’re gonna half invest, half effort then what’s the point. In my opinion it shows a reluctance to fully commit and if that’s because you can’t prioritize the person, still want to play the field, or just dealing with baggage (aka got hurt in the past) then maybe it’s best to avoid relationships altogether until you’re ready.

I agree and I don’t think someone should be expected to pour their heart into someone they just started dating.

But there should be mutual effort. If one person gives while the other takes the remainder of that relationship will be miserable

I'd say that depends on what you mean by, "give it your all". I don't give it my all with a woman until she makes me feel like she's chosen me. Women have a habit of wanting to to keep thier options open and soak up the adulation from any and all guys. But the only thing a woman tells me is she interested in all of them guys. Well, why would I give my all to woman that has such little regard for me. When she chooses to put energy into me and only me. That is when I will give her my all.

It’s not worth being with someone who lacks effort. I’m not saying you have to pour your heart into the dating stages. You don’t… But it shouldn’t be one sided. Where one person gives while the other takes.

No you shouldn't date someone unless your trying to be end game I've been hurt by men who have done this and my husband has help me heal from it but it caused me to have lots of trust issues and being able to believe people

I actually find the thoughts of imagining a relationship, as actually daunting.
