When you feel an intense chemistry with someone, do they feel it too?

Is it usually mutual or can be a result of your own attraction pushed onto them?

Someone might know that you are feeling something -- your eyes and posture give it away involuntarily -- but it doesn't mean that they FEEL anything towards you in response.

For example, my recent ex and I chose to part ways bc of what turned out to be a complex misunderstanding, but he was still talking about me to other people for months and the first time he saw me since we parted he chased me down. When I looked at him I was furious because I know he's been gossiping for months, and yet when I looked at his face all I saw was how lit up his eyes were and how happy he was to actually see me. It was awkward bc he had made it awkward. Seeing his expression I softened a little, my fury replaced with a go-to advisory tone to stop gossiping and be more mindful of his actions, which supposedly he's since been doing.

I think it’s mutual sometimes, but not always. When there is shared chemistry I think you can tell.
