How did the person you went on a date with clinch a second date?

was it a particular mannerism, detail, or something they said? why did they get a second chance when so few do?

For example, i went on two dates with a guy who had his life together. he asked me about my five year plan! and he created scenarios to get to know me like if money wasn’t an issue would you stay in california or plan to leave.
we’re not compatible, ultimately it’s not a match, but i can’t say it’s because of anything he did

I watch how a woman reacts and behavior towards me when I'm speaking, eye contact, way she sits, mannerisms... I can tell if she is into me or not. I'm brutally honest and if it's not going well, I'll speak up.

I'm very open, I listen, I pay attention.

If she's all about herself, I can tell.

When I feel we are clicking, I'll go for date number 2 and 3. But if it's not there, I can usually tell. I'll tell her that too. I don't leave a lady hanging and wondering.

i’ll confess i have a little problem where I’m not interested but i’ll still show appropriate mannerisms and carry on a good conversation. I’m guilty of having left a date where I’m absolutely sure there won’t be a second while the other party felt everything went wonderfully. has happened multiple times
