Guys would you date a girl with frozen embryo's?

I was flicking through TV channels. One was a fertility clinic reality. The reason I paused on it was the girl was having her eggs harvested and fertilized by a sperm donor.

My first thought was would I accept this, if I subsequently dated her? Would other guys?

OK harvesting and preserving her eggs, if she is getting to an age where she might not produce viable eggs any more, is one thing but getting them fertilized seems a bit insulting to a future partner.

If I dated a girl and she told me the deal is I accept not having paternity, but do all the other father stuff I would feel insulted. How about you?

With a single mom at least you know the deal straight up before you went on a date.

Girls if you dated a guy and he told you he had bought some eggs and fertilized them with his sperm because the donor was superbly beautiful and he wanted the best genes possible for his children. Your role is to be the loving surrogate. What would you think?

I think circumstances would come into it, and who she was.
I have 2 small kids, have had vasectomy so not planning on more kids. But if I were single and met someone amazing who I can see raising a child with, I'd need to know the reasoning behind freezing embryo. If there was a medical reason, and it was her only chance then I could probably accept it. If it were just choice, I'd rather try a reversal of vasectomy and give it some time to conceive together.
Ultimately I wouldn't stand in someone's way of having a child.

She could have chosen to freeze her eggs unfertilized. Understand your circumstances and very reasonable view of not standing in her way of having a child. As you say a v reversal could do the trick.

But seeing you are going to put a lot into the child, you are OK with not having paternity?

I suppose it might be a way of getting out of child support when she divorces you in 8 years time :)

Worked for a lesbian but I suspect courts will have one rule for lesbians and another for hetero men :)

Historically freezing eggs rather than embryos had a lower success rate. Some processes have moved on so the difference isn't quite so extreme these days.
Going into a new relationship I'm bringing kids. I would need a new partner to accept them. If she were a single mum already or in the situation of having child by IVF I could take on her situation.

That is logical and furthermore sensible. I was unaware that there was a success rate difference between frozen eggs and frozen embryos.

The interesting thing here is that technology is challenging fairly enduring precepts. As I don't have children yet, I might be willing to take on a single mom or go through IVF if she had fertility issues but I would drawn the line at having an embryo even though it was before my time with her.

It is not entirely logical on my part I grant.

i'd make her feel bad of course. she's not a very smart girl if she's done this. so i'd make her get them back and then i'd sell them on the dark web.

That is the interesting part. A girl can either freeze her eggs or freeze her eggs fertilized i. e as embryos. It is entirely optional.

She could have thought if I find a suitable partner I will give him paternity. Instead she seemed to enjoy selecting a donor.

Most men would not be happy with a wife/girlfriend choosing a better gene donor after we have formed a relationship. If we like a single mom we know she comes with kids attached so that is a voluntary decision.

This is a interesting mid point. Her future partner is denied paternity but she could have given paternity. I would not accept myself.
