Do you guys think the comments my boyfriend keeps making are kinda weird?

So to start with, I (F19) have been dating my boyfriend (M31) for about 8 months now. And before we start, I already know what kind of comments I might get about the age gap. We met at a party and just intended to hookup NOT knowing each other’s age but ended up having a lot in common and hitting it off. He looks incredibly younger for his age, and has had a variety of partners ranging from my age to older than him, so no he’s not a creeper or trying to take advantage of me. But lately he’s been making comments that makes me feel like he might find me immature or irresponsible. While I don’t think I’m immature, obviously our maturity levels will vary considering the life experience he had. He has more responsibilities to take care of and I’m mainly focusing on college right now and enjoying the free time I do have. The type of comments he makes about it me is like anytime I slightly complain about something for example: I lose an object like my eyeliner or a piece of clothing I’ll be like “noooo I can’t find my favorite shirt 😔” and he’s started being like “you’re such a little babyy wahwahhhh” and he doesn’t say it in a super weird way like romanticizing it, but he says it like boohoo you silly little kid. He didn’t really make comments like that before, but now he’s making them all the time. It’s not just when I complain, like I was walking down his stairs when the lights were turned off and was talking about how I couldn’t see anything n I hope I don’t miss a step and he’s like “that’s cus you’re a little baby” and there’s a fine line between him calling me “his baby” and him thinking I’m acting like a baby and it feels like that’s how he’s starting to think of me. My thing is that it’s starting to weird me out a little. We are at different levels of maturity, and he should understand that if he’s okay with having a much younger girlfriend and if he has a problem w how I act then he should be upfront and tell me. I js don’t know how to bring it up to him :/

Not to mention, I laughed it off as a joke in the beginning but I’ve stopped finding it amusing and kind of just ignore or don’t respond when he makes comments like that now. He’s usually pretty mature in most regards, but I find these comments to be kind weird and immature. Plus I would never make comments about his age in that sense or call him “old”

Sounds like he is been direct, you just don't want to believe it and haven't pushed back against it.

This question it's self is you hoping for an answer that could rationalize it so you don't have to see it for what it is, but yes it is that's how he simply thinks of you. And you should direct that for better or worse.

Also when someone has a pattern of how they act, it's not a random new thing as it may seem to you. It's pretty much certain he's acted like this before with an ex so yeah think about that.

Upfront and tell you like you are telling him how you feel right? Communication is key and you must communicate how you feel, kinda what's expected from an age gap like that tbh, deep down he will probably always see you the way he does cause he's been on the earth for 11 years more than you, you should try and communicate and hope he starts treating you less like a child.
