You can't necessarily control if you have a type or not but I guess you can remain open to dating women that don't fit the type you generally find attractive

Most everyone’s type is out of their league lol. I would like a girl who looks a lot better than me, but the chances are low. I’m happy with at least someone in my tier of looks or greater, tried with an uglier girl and could not finish during sex.

I don't think it's worth having a type whether you're attractive or not. All you're doing is limiting your options and potentially eliminating some wonderful people.
