with only personality NOT looks, money, status, would they still be with each other?

why is that the first thought for most people who see these large age gap relationships as either weird or gross to begin with? why is it impossible to consider both partners may have great personalities?

Sometimes it is... the two people DO have to be compatible on some level, otherwise the thing doesn't work. BUT YES there is also the older person's obsession with having a much younger person... and typically the younger person's obsession with the sense of stability that comes from dating an older person.

I think the first answer is the key although it doesn't work as a poll because the mental illness of virtue signalers includes an inability to either recognize or admit their mental condition.
