When I was on a date with a man and it was going well, he sat beside me and did things like touching my stomach and nuzzling into my neck. Cuddling me a lot. I was just sitting there, not really doing anything, except I did a few closed mouth pecks, because I was conscious of keeping it appropriate in public. Then I was just sitting there, talking.

I noticed a group of people sitting nearby laughing. I assumed they were laughing at us, after one of them smiled at me on his way to their table.

I don’t fully understand what’s appropriate behaviour and what’s not. We both have Asperger’s syndrome and one of my symptoms is that I can’t read body language and I often have to learn things from trial and error, although obviously I know you don’t make out or neck in public.

Was my date’s behaviour inappropriate?

If you don’t feel comfortable with something someone else is doing you’re allowed to tell that person to stop immediately. Some people mean well but they get too carried away you just need to be kind and say hey this is going too far and if they don’t stop you be more firm. Most people will get the hint if you’re direct.

@moonface2 I can appreciate and feel for what it's like though - to enjoy someone's company that, like your partner, even if a bit too much and wrong setting, - to want to be affectionate with your partner - and even being near them it's a real test of self control 🙃🫠 - and I think that's a good thing. A good thing - to not always need to be affectionate, let alone publicly - it's not polite to stare type vibe mantra 🥲😋😊👀

I guess it would depend on the relationship and how comfortable with PDA you guys are.. I wouldn't call those particularly inappropriate though.. It's not like he was rubbing your thighs or cuffing you up..
