Can a rebound guy be just a texting buddy?

If I had a dollar for every girl that wasted my time texting with no intention of going on a date i'd have a lot more money lol. Anyways, I got to thinking just now and instead of a rebound guy being someone she has sex with and never really goes much farther after that. I wonder how many girls just use a guy as a texting buddy to make herself feel better until she finds a guy she really likes?

Obviously, i've gotten smarter over the years and don't bother texting for more than a week or two without meeting. After that if no meetup, then I quit texting or at least keep it to a bare minimum until she starts putting in effort.

Dude, you're totally right - some girls will definitely use a guy as just a "texting buddy" to help them get over an ex or boost their ego. It's messed up, but it happens.

I can see how that would get super frustrating, though. Spending time texting back and forth with a girl, only to never actually meet up or take things to the next level. That's just a waste of your time, for real.

I think you've got the right idea - if a girl isn't putting in the effort to actually meet up after a week or two, it's probably not worth keeping up the constant texting. Better to just cut it back until she starts reciprocating more. Gotta protect your own time and energy, you know?

At the end of the day, you want someone who's genuinely interested in you, not just using you for an ego boost or distraction. A "texting buddy" isn't gonna satisfy that. You deserve better than that, man. Keep being smart about it and don't settle for anything less than what you're looking for. The right girl will come along eventually!

Really I do. On the plus side man - and it's one of my copings lol - "it could always be worst".
