I’m sorry this is long and I’m ranting. I matched with a guy on eharmony not long ago and gave him my number on Friday, and he called me. I knew it was him but didn’t answer because at the time I was in the passenger seat of my friend’s car, so I texted him instead. My friend (who I know means well) is being really pushy and nagging me to hurry up and find a guy. She’s driving but she asks who’s calling. I let it slip that it’s a guy that I met on a dating app. She asks ”so why didn’t you answer?” I told her I was texting him instead.
I didn’t want to be talking on the phone with the guy while I was in the car with her. She starts getting on me to call him instead of texting and then argues with me and tells me to call him back while I’m still in the car. I planned to call him back when she dropped me off at home but eventually did it to shut her up and oh boy was it awkward. I’m talking to him, she’s cursing out other drivers and hearing my conversation then when I got off the phone she’s giving me shit about how awkward I am, then denies listening to the conversation when I tell her “I typically am awkward when I have to call a guy and talk to him while sitting in my friend’s car with her listening and yelling out curse words. You should have let me wait until I was home and had privacy”.
I’m always telling her “get off my ass about dating” but she won’t. And on top of that, we’ll be out and she’ll randomly bring a guy over to me, introduce us and say to me “he thinks you’re really pretty and wants to go on a date with you. Have a conversation” and walks away. How do I make her understand why that’s awkward? Because I’ve told her and all she says is “well stop making it awkward”.

Being on eHarmony was your first weird mistake, and then it went further downhill from there.
My cousin met her husband on there so I thought I’d give it a shot but I’m regretting it. Thankfully it’s only a one month subscription. I wanted to get back out there dating but I didn’t want it this way. I mentioned joining a dating site to this girl not knowing she was that overbearing about it and she just decided to butt herself in to my dating life and started matching and messaging guys for me. I did talk to the guy and he seems cool. It’s not the guy giving me the issue though, it’s her.
