I was on a dating site maybe 10 years ago and met someone. She only had one pic and I thought it can't possibly be real because she was one of the best looking women I have ever seen. I was sure it was a catfish, but took a chance.
So I arranged a date at a restaurant. She showed up and I almost fell off my chair. She was absolutely gorgeous. We went on 4 or 5 dates and after a while I thought she was all looks and no substance so I just stopped calling her. Never heard from her after that. I'm sure she had no trouble finding another guy.
Another time, after talking to a girl online for months, I arranged to meet her and she never showed. She lived about 100 miles away and I had driven all the way there to meet her and made reservations in a vegan restaurant in her area because she was vegan. Had flowers for her, the whole 9 yards. Long story short she ghosted me. I kept calling her all night with no answer and finally asked some stranger if she wanted the flowers before I left to drive home. She finally answered my texts and claimed she got "cold feet."
Pretty sure that one was a catfish.
No, but I had people try to catfish me online and they never could succeed. If I talk with a girl from online , I will not meet that girl until she proves to me she is legit , if she can’t video chat with me and makes excuses as to why she can not? I don’t waste anymore of my time on whoever it is behind the screen. Catfishes have serious mental issues that they should get professional help for. To pretend like you are someone else , and get off on pretending like you are someone else , is a serious mental condition , especially if you are trying to make someone else believe that you are the person you are posing as , Sadly there are a lot of catfishes and spammers on the internet that need professional help , If you can’t accept who you are as a person, Go get help , you are fucked in the head period.
Isn't that Danny Trejo? I think he has better things to do besides catfish. 🤔 Although I get the humor. 😉 Now as for G@G. Since we are all pretty much anonymous here I'm guessing it would be pretty easy to catfish someone, especially if they were lonely and looking. So far I have never been a victim. Knock on wood!
lol yes
No. However this pic remembers me as I played with fake male account and instantly I've got a PM from latina that wanted an invitation for EU visa and of course money. lol

Kinda... the girl was bigger in person than she was in her pictures. It's funny... girls claim it's bad to judge based on weight, but will post pictures of themselves when they were slim in the past because they know it looks better 😂
I remember one meeting with a lady I met online and her online photos had been taken about a hundred pounds ago.
That seems to be common on dating sites. They hope that once they get their foot in the door everything will be hunkie dorrie.
@NoDecision I had that experience twice (other time was misstating her age), but only twice out of at least 50 first dates with different women (spread out over a period of 13 years.)
One would think. Fool me once shame on you.
Fool me twice, shame on me.
@NoDecision The same woman did not fool me twice.
@OlderAndWiser Seems like you had the worse of the worst.
I tell you what in this Country its nearly everyone , and I have a girlfriend who puts a - 20 year filter.. How stupid is that? She has just spent the last month here ( I've known her for 17 years , so I know her age , and she looks her age ) , the whole concept just makes no sense. Whats the point?
Unless , just for full on rip off tactics.
@coachTanthony Yes.
Some cruel folks out there - the woman stood me up and while everything was correct she was early 20s she was caucasian she was as her profile looked - she was just another deadbeat woman 👠 type who probably did drugs or drank - never again dating app meets - ever 😋😛🤌🏻🤞🏻☢️🛑 if you all know safety
nope :D
I'm not a fan of meetings irl until I'm ready for it... fortunately most guys is not patient enough :D
Possibly, I was going to meet a woman in San Francisco and somewhere between leaving Salt Lake City and California she fell off the face of the earth. I was certainly ghosted, and possibly catfished?
yea a couple times. mainly by dudes pretending to be girls to subtly get off in convos with me or dudes dishonestly using pictures on dating apps
Yeah a couple of times.. I remember when a girl posted pics of some IG model, and I believe that it was her.. Only to find out it wasn't.. It made sense to me as to why she got so upset when I so much as mentioned another girl OTP.. After that I don't ever think I've been legit fooled by Catfishers again..
A lot! All of the people I have seen in my life look much worse in person. One of them was so proud of his light eyes that were almost brown and I was thinking about his arrogance 😂
People edit photos way too much these days
Yes, I have and I’m glad that I was smart enough to figure it out.
I'm pretty certain I've engaged with a fair share, but it never went far or became anything serious
I tend to wait a day if they ask me to move to another chat app. This usually ends up with them being banned from the dating app I met them on.
I went to see Steve
Found out he actually was
Jack Black
Yeah I was talking to a mail-order bride from Russia her name was Olga, but when I came to Russia I found out it was a 300 pound guy named Igor. I got ripped off and I was pissed.
Many tried, all failed. Most catfish are lazy and typically leave at least one glaring detail unfinished. And it's in my nature to be a little paranoid so I'm pretty quick to sniff it out.
When I was in middle school old guys would pretend to be my age from another school.
Yeah, when I was 15-16 years old.
I was young and stupid, and it did not feel great.
Twice I caught one cuz he used a model’s photo like a dumb ass and the other was a guy I played a game with as a teen i looked up emo guys on google or something and the photo he used came up.
But, on the bright side, Danny Trejo would be really cool to hang out with
I wouldn't mind realise I was talking with Danny Trejo.
Since I haven't met anyone from online in person I can't say I haven't.
I've had some try, but reverse image search is your friend.
Oh I been a victim. I always say nothing is real until you meet that person
Multiple times, there are some websites you know every women will be a catfish until she isn't.
She looks better than her picture whatchu mean 🤣
lol.
Yup followed someone once they then claimed everything was a lie
Yep, definitely
@coachTanthony No, not so far
Yep, never trust any guy on this site 😭
uh no I haven't
They both look very nice by the way.
I quit the online thing a while ago. Not worth it
No lol
Probably
Yep.
