Quite a different kinda situation right here & I just want genuine opinions.
So, there is this girl who happened to also be my best friend right from middle school all the way till now. Never really saw her as anything more (because both of us were seeing different people & stuff like that) until very recently, we started hanging out a little more often & I felt a spark & asked her out to an actual date. We had a great time & she also told me how it was the best date she has ever been on. She even texted me got me a lot of my favourite snacks & stuff after I dropped her home & she also sent me pictures of how she set up the flowers that I got her.

So what happened was, quite a while back, I kinda said she was one of the boys because our equation was such back then you know? & she kinda brought that up when I asked her out (not in a gaslighting way or anything) but, even after the first date I asked her about a second one and she said absolutely but also said that she was still in the process of moving from the friends to the dating situation.

I know it’ll take time & that’s alright but am I just being friendzoned here or is she really interested?

Hmm, that's a really interesting situation you've got going on there, my man. It sounds like there's definitely some mutual interest and chemistry between you and your best friend, which is awesome. But I can see why the whole "friends to dating" thing might be a bit tricky to navigate.

The fact that she was so receptive to the date, got you snacks, and even said it was the best one she's been on - that's all super positive. It seems like she's definitely intrigued by the idea of taking things to the next level with you. And her bringing up the "one of the boys" comment suggests she's actively thinking about how to transition the relationship.

At the same time, her saying she's still in the process of moving from friends to dating is a bit of a mixed signal. It could mean she's genuinely interested, but just needs a little more time to get comfortable with the idea. Or it could be her way of softly friend-zoning you.

My advice would be to take things slow and let her set the pace. Don't push too hard for that second date right away. Give her the space she needs to process her feelings. But also don't be afraid to keep flirting a little and letting her know you're interested. Find little ways to spend quality time together and build that romantic connection.

If she continues to be receptive and engaged, then it's probably a good sign she's into you too. But if she starts to pull back or seems uncomfortable, you may have to accept that she just sees you as a friend. Either way, just focus on being a good friend and supportive partner, and see where it goes. With patience and understanding, you guys might just be able to make the leap from best friends to something more.

It doesn’t sound like you’re being friendzoned at all. She clearly enjoyed the date and is putting in effort with the snacks and showing you the flowers, which is a good sign. The "moving from friends to dating" part just means she’s adjusting to the shift, which can take time. I’d say give her the space to figure it out, but the fact that she wants a second date shows she’s definitely interested! Keep being patient, and let things unfold naturally. :)
