What's most annoying to talk about on a date?

Politics and exes can be equally annoying to address on a first date, ALTHOUGH it does determine whether the person is simply nuts and not worth the second date, so... hmm.

My mom's friend (who dated frequently) used to say that some guys were just a waste of mascara (bc back then QUALITY makeup was $$$ so if a gal was investing time and resources to get all gussied up she sure as hell didn't want to spend the evening listening to dating sob stories. Guys who are also looking forward to a date and make the mistake of asking the simple ex-related question are not asking you to open the fucking floodgates...

SIMILARLY, guys/gals who go in a date trying to sound interesting my gushing on and on about politics... please stop. NOTHING is more annoying than listening to the trending whining "OMG" voice droning ON and ON and ON at the booth/table behind me than two morons on a first date trying to impress one another with empty political chatter. As a wise teacher of mine once said, "empty barrels make the most noise."

Before you go on a date, look at yourself in the mirror and ask yourself WHY you are on this date. Is it because you missed your psychiatric appointment? Probably not. So why share all your baggage with this person you're about to see for a first date, hmmm?

Any of those would be a dealbreaker but bringing up sex? Uh oh lol.  I guess a lot would have to do with where you are at in said dating cycle. First, second, eighth... have you had sex yet? I dunno.

Its not a specific topic, its when you don't align.

Take politics, if you agree thats great. But if you disagree that can be the end of it. Religion same thing.

The ex its different if it was a specific really cool moment that happened to be at a time the ex was around or them actively telling about their ex and praising the ex. Lets say somehow you get on the topic of a car accident and its "Last time for me was when my ex was driving, they were never good with cars. Luckily we only had some bruises" versus "I always loved how my ex would do X". Sharing specific experiences from a time in your life when your ex was present I don't mind especially if that relationship lasted a while, but telling me how great your ex is is a nogo when starting something fresh

An ex. Some guy thought once I will play a therapist for the fight of his addiction to his ex. We talked about that a little bit and I thought talk about his ex is a pretext to have something to talk about. He didn't stop as we met and he went alone home.

All of these are annoying for me, and if they get brought up by her that would be our only date. Another topic I hate is talking about is what you do for work. I realize that it's necessary, though. I don't want to be dating a CIA assassin.

Definitely sex because it’s obvious he’s thinking he’ll get some since he brought it up. An Ex if he’s complaining about her. Politics is risky unless you know the others opinion. But generally complaining about something is super annoying.
