Why would a guy ask me to text him then leave me on seen?

Me and this coworker have been liking each other for like 6 months but we wouldn’t date because I’m married and my husband works at the same place. Yesterday I let him know that I’m divorcing and later he asked to take me out, since he asked me when other people were close and I still haven’t made public that I’m single I got nervous and said I wasn’t sure but I would like to text with him ( so we could talk more privately) he gave me his number and said he was excited for me to text him. When I texted him the next day he was dry, we barely exchanged a very few messages, I didn’t get the chance to tell him I wanted to go out and he ended up leaving me on seen. Should I wait a few days and then text him again? Or just let it go?

No idea.. but maybe the fact you all work together made it awkward, maybe he doesn't trust you are divorcing because you acted dodgy in front of others, or it could have been because you said "Maybe" that made him think you weren't that into him. You could bring it up at work like "Hey, I haven't heard from you, did you still want to go out sometime?" lol. Though not sure why you are already looking for a new replacement when you haven't finished with the other guy especially because you all work together. That's a good way to start pointless drama..
