Is deleting messages in a relationship always shady, or can it be harmless?

I personally don’t see what the big deal is (unless you’re selectively deleting them, which IS shady). We used to not HAVE phones with SMS options so 🤷🏻‍♀️… Now everyone is hypersensitive about this stuff… but what if your phone broke and you lost all your fucking messages? Would you or your partner just lose your minds? I’d probably be a little sad at losing some nice/sweet messages, but otherwise there’s this thing called TALKING that couples are supposed to do in a relationship….


SHADY would be the selective deletion of some messages and not others (between you or between him/her and his/her friends) that would be somehow incriminating or imply an extra relationship/person of interest.

Depends on why someone’s deleting messages. But if someone’s all the sudden being shady with their phone more then before this is a red flag absolutely.

A lot of times when affairs are going on they are on their phones chatting with the person or persons they are having sexual as well as emotional affairs with.

I cannot think of any situation in which it would be harmless. Nobody deletes harmless messages. I am not saying there isn't some very specific case where this would be harmless (maybe a surprise party?). But... don't be willfully dumb if you're in this situation. Even if your birthday is coming up soon.

I never been in a relationship. But here is the thing I keep my phone clean. I always delete my messages. So if it's harmful, then I guess if I ever get into a relationship, she will have this as an excuse to breakup with me. But if she didn't have that excuse she would probably find another one.
