On one note it could be his sense of gentleman behavior or set of ideas/ideals.

But on the other note it could just be cliche and feel more like he’s just going through the motions.

If he had given me flowers on a 2nd or 3rd date then it’d feel like it was more because he felt something towards/for me, than just being repetitive.

Not on the first date thats a bit much honestly because she doesn't know you. The exception would be if you've already known each other before, like maybe friends first. Or if you meet somebody long distance, talk for a while and then bring her flowers on the first date.

I think it depends on how long I’ve known the guy.

Have we been friends for years but are now going on our first official date? Flowers could be nice but not necessary.

Have we never met before but are meeting for the first time on our first date? I feel like receiving flowers would be sweet… but also I think first dates should be more relaxed and casual. I might feel like it would be a bigger let down for the guy if I decide not to go on a second, third date because they already invested a lot in me. It feels like pressure.

Flowers when you are an official couple is the safe way to go!

I love flowers. I've learnt and love floriography. It's my comfort passion. It makes me so happy. He doesn't necessarily need to give to me, be it on first date or every other day. But if he does, that'll be so sweet and thoughtful of him >3.

No. in my opinion you’re doing too much in a first date. From my own experience when a guy does too much very early on is a turn off and a red flag for me.
