I am doing sports and learning a language these days, so I am not thinking about working for a while, maybe I will go to a course and improve myself in sports, then I will start working, I am not seeing anyone during this time. I still wonder if someone would say anything about my unemployment if it was there
Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yA majority of men don’t care about that, especially if they can provide for both. Women on the other hand tend to care about that. That’s why you have all these women who complain that they can’t find a man who say things like I make a lot of money, I have my own place, my own car, etc. But the thing about that is her money isn’t going to benefit him because most women want a man to pay for a majority of things. So why would that interest him? Most tomes it doesn’t. Most men have been conditioned to take care of women. So long as you’re not a pain in the ass, you’re nice, cute, pleasant, he’s going to be ok w it. The one time men may be concerted about finances if she’s thousands of dollars in debt. Even if you weren’t going to school, so long as you took care of him, the house, cooking, cleaning, he’d be ok w it. My girl has t worked for 17 years but she does all of that which I just mentioned. Some women say they’d do it, yes for a few months, maybe even a year but when they realize they have to pay for everything the rest of their lives they don’t like it.

Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yIt depends on thier financial situation as well as thier plans. I've technically been unemployed for the past three years. But I worked my ass off in the previous 30 years. So while it's not an ideal situation, and it was certainly not planned. Financially I've been able to swing it. In the interim I've taken the steps to go into business for myself. I'm far from getting rich, but I am supplementing my situation atm. I'm either going to make a go of it on my own or I'll eventually land a job working for another firm.
The point I'm making is I've always viewed an occupation as one's personal business. I may work for a firm or may work for myself, but either way I'm always in the business of furthering MY brand. To date it's always worked out.
I guess what I'm saying is I've always taken care of myself. And I could do the same thing for my partner provided I feel the have a similar mindset to mine. Honestly if we didn't have similar view on money it would never work to begin with.

1 yIt's fine if they don't become like the guy I was talking to who didn't have a job and had no issue "borrowing" money like a $100 here and $80 there.. Then asking me to rent a hotel room "for us" and buy him a gift for his birthday when I only knew him for 2 months lol. I bought him a necklace for his birthday but never met up or gave it to him, since he never paid me back and was clearly using me.. at the time I didn't really care because I had money to blow but I'm only actually attracted to serious guys who can take care of themselves.

1 yI tried that earlier this year and that was a big mistake. Never again unless I've been with the person for a while and they lost their job all of a sudden. Then I would try to support them as best as I can for a while. But just starting out dating someone and they are unemployed... nope.

1 yCouldn't care less about their financial situation. As long as they're happy. And I'd prefer a partner that felt the same as me in that regard.
216 Replyso you’d want them to be unemployed and u paying for everything?
- 1 y
If I have the means, I'd be happy to. And if I don't, it doesn't necessarily mean we can't work a relationship out. Plenty of extremely poor people in the worst conditions in poor countries have relationships and make it work. It's only privileged people in rich countries that think you need money to make a relationship work.
so you’d rather be poor than rich?💀
- 1 y
It doesn't matter to me whether they're rich or poor. It's a non factor.
im talking ab you ”you’d”
@chocolatetwopointo No one needs to pay my expenses, I get by and take good care of myself.
how do u get money if u dont have a job?
@chocolatetwopointo My father gives me money to meet my needs.
- 1 y
@chocolatetwopointo I don't think anyone would rather be poor themselves. Obviously I'd rather have a lot of money than not. But I'm saying money is not a factor for me when choosing a partner.
so what will u do when he doesn't give u any more money? do you know how to survive on ur own? you’ll need to get a job one day
@chocolatetwopointo Of course I will work. I worked at a job when I was 12 years old. Now I am interested in myself. I need to improve myself. Earning money is not a problem.
okay, how long have u been unemployed and for how long do u plan on being unemployed?
@chocolatetwopointo I will graduate from university in a few months and I think I will be unemployed for a year.
ok👍.
@chocolatetwopointo So, are you working?
nope, im still in school, but im looking for a job, everythings taken already

10 ReplyJobs come and go. It's never been a problem being with someone who is temporarily unemployed, by choice or otherwise. Another thing alltogether is that the person would relax and take advantage of the situation to his or her own benefit.

m 1 yUnemployment means everything and nothing. There are many ways to look at unemployment, depending on where one lives, depending on how they look at themselves, socially:
- Unemployed in a country where collective support isn't in any dictionary? Well, that smells like depression, in general, and despair. Hard to carry someone like that, but not infeasible, for a time.
- Unemployed in a country where there is community support? Smells like better times, money flowing reasonably, and better morale, so, easier relationships.
- Unemployed while it contradicts expectations in life? Whether or not there is external, financial support, again, it smells like depression... With the consequences associated on themselves and in turn on the relationship
- Unemployed and feeling well about it? Then it's cool, anyone feeling well with themselves, whatever their status, is evidently cool to live with, and to love.
00 Reply 896 opinions shared on Dating topic. There's a difference between unemployment and where you are - assuming you're actually 21.
Unemployed puts a picture of someone sitting home - probably in their parent's basement - doing nothing to improve their situation.
What you're doing is developing skills that will allow you to be more marketable when you enter the job market.
My current situation is similar, albeit 30 years older. I'm not employed, but I'm working to fix my home for sale and studying homesteading skills for my next step. I'm building a future to raise a son in that will help him heal after losing his mum last year. That means changing things up so I can be more present and hands-on for a few years so he never doubts how much his mum and I love him.
So to your question00 Reply1.4K opinions shared on Dating topic. If it happens while we are together and you're trying then no worries. But if you are jobless before dating then hell to the no stay single. I've gone to uni and worked. There's no excuse to not being able to do both. If you don't have the time then how the hell you gonna have time for a relationship. Literally just using people because you're broke is what I'd be thinking. That was my rule when I was younger. I couldn't or didn't think about dating anyone if I was between jobs. It signals that you don't have enough care, drive or time to manage a relationship.

1 yWell she’s not unemployed, but she’s working part time now and not making much money and it’s becoming a burden on me now after all these months so I try to help her out while trying to pay my own bills so it’s not working out so well after so long but maybe a couple of months is no big deal But I know most women are not going to date a guy that doesn’t have a job

1 yDuring covid I dated a girl who was technically unemployed (her work got shut down). we dated for about 6 months.
12 ReplySo why did you break up?
- 1 y
We were not long term compatible.
The bulk of our relationship was the covid lock down. While there was a spark. Hindsight it was more "she needed support/food, I enjoyed the company and we both enjoyed the lockdown sex"
