Is being a good woman pointless?

I spoke to my ex once and he told me I’m a good wonderful woman but wishes his girlfriend could more like me. He says she tries to be a good person but isn’t fully there. Which doesn’t make sense because he chose to be with her over me.

I'm sorry about your ex. But its not that it doesn't make sense. It makes sense. He can think you're a good woman, but still not who he thinks is the right person for him to be with.

It should not make you question whether its pointless or not to be a good woman.

The only point in being a good woman, is because that's who you really are. As a person. Inside. Genuinely and for its own sake. Because your values, preferences, beliefs and outlook on the world... just naturally lead you to be "a good woman."

If it comes naturally to you, then... that's the point. Because it's who you are.

If it doesn't come naturally to you, then you're not so much a "good woman" as you're able to pretend to be one.

Being a good person is not about waiting for someone to value that, it’s about being authentic and doing what you believe is right, regardless of the recognition you get. If he didn’t value that, then it’s his loss. You continuing to talk to him will only ruin you and you’re already questioning yourself. The right person will value you just the way you are.

No. It’s not pointless. It sounds like he regrets choosing her over you. Ask him straight up why he’s still with her if he really feels that way (only ask this if you want him back).
