Is it wrong to date a woman who isn't very smart if I genuinely love her?

I've noticed she's not very smart and it's really no secret, but I find that I still love her enough and she makes me happy. I have been accused of just using her for her looks, but I like her personality and don't take advantage of her.

Not wrong at all. If you love her and she makes you happy, that's all that matters. Not everything is about intelligence. For a lot of people though, intelligence is a pretty large aspect of compatibility and usually is a pretty big deal breaker. Intelligence compatibility is a real thing. If your partner can't converse with you at your level, I can't see much depth being there. But you know what they say.

I think it depends what you mean by that. Because there are a lot of ways to measure intelligence. Most women I know I've been smarter than. But that doesn't mean I was smarter than them in every way. And I think that is the key. As long as you can respect them it's OK.

Why would that be wrong? You like her not just for her looks but also her personality. So what if she's not very smart, she might be a terrific person or has other good things to offer.

It's mostly other women finding fault with it, they accuse me of being a "typical guy", whatever that means.

You shouldn't care what they think. Some people have nothing else to do but judge others look or other people's relationship. Some people might even put you down because they might feel jealous. Who knows. Just do what makes you and her happy

Everyone is smart in their own way. Some people are slower in others while others may excel in that area and vice versa

Yeah, I'd say I'm of average intelligence myself, but I do try to help her whenever I can.

It's mostly just small basic things, I've also had to prevent her from falling for scams before.

Maybe she's just not particularly aware or too kind or too nice

I'd say she's not particularly aware, she has a few friends that are similar to her, they think I'm a genius even though I'm probably average at best.

I plan on it! I've been told I have the patience of Jobe, even her dad gets frustrated with her at times.
