Is it time to use a dating app?

Do you think I should use it? I last used it last year for half an hour and then deleted it. It was awful.

If you hated it that much two years ago, I wouldn't expect you to have a good time with them now.

But it depends on your goal and expectations. You'll probably get similar results as the ones you get on GaG, that is, 752 boring conversation starters landing in your DM box.

Also, depending on which app you choose, population and results might be very different. As there are tons of specialized, theme restricted apps, aside from the usual Tinder and clones.

Try one that you have to pay for as it will reduce the number of losers like Match. I heard some apps may only allow guys to put out like 3 invites or whatever a week which will cut down the “knock on every door” type guys. Full disclosure, I have never used an app so I don’t know them. You could ignore all of the , estates and only look at [riffles and DM the guys you want to, not sift through all the garbage messages.

You can always just see what swims into the net and take your time deciding, so maybe in a year you will have matched with 2 or 3 guys instead of looking for 3 guys in a week (not that you do this, but many people do). Just add it as a tool to the other things you do to meet men and wait for the Golden Helmet of Mambrino to come along.

I mean, you can, I think you need to have the right mindset though. Like, it can't be too deep, have a good idea of what your goals/boundaries are (and really try to hold yourself to them), take a break if it's affecting you mentally/emotionally, etc

I think making sure you are healed and not wanting toxic partners comes first. Trust your gut when dealing with dating app partners. Definitely go on real dates and learn how they are in person. Too many people jump in without looking at the obvious red flags.

Do what you please, but be careful as this time "the dating apps" have evolved... a lot, and you might not be "pleasantly" surprised... but... you do you...🤷‍♂️

It doesn't have a high likelihood of being successful. However, I do know several couples who met their future spouse on a dating app. One of them was my sister.
