I’ve been dating a man for a month and a half. We get together a few times a week and we talk every day via text and FaceTime almost all day long. He’s even started falling asleep on the phone. He did state when we first started dating he was seeing other women and that was fine with me. I did tell him he was the only man I am currently seeing. On our last date he gave me a hug goodbye and kissed me on the forehead. Normally he kisses my lips so this was different for me. I asked him if anything has changed between us and he said no. He asked why and I told him and he said he just felt like kissing my forehead. But then when I look back on the date he didn’t hold my hand or anything like normal. Should I take him at what he’s telling me or is he just saying what I want to hear? I’m just trying not to assume anything. I’m also new to dating again as it has been a long time since I dated someone and have been single. I recently got divorced so this is my first romantic relationship since then.

I've personally never enjoyed the kissing on the forehead thing from anyone other than my parents. It feels oddly patronizing even though it's supposed to be tender. But if the guy seems to be pulling you away and not kissing/holding you the way he did you have to have a little sitdown and ask wtf is going on.

Don’t take it to mean I didn’t reach out or touch his hand or arm in any way. I did but his reaction wasn’t his usual. Normally he reaches first when we are walking to hold my hand so me reaching for him was different and not our usual.
