Is he romantically interested in me?

I have a guy friend whom im interested in. He rarely texts me first. Unless i go days without texting him. However, he is always the one to arrange get togethers. And he drops compliments every now and then that shows he admires me. But does that make him romantically interested in me? He always pays attention to small details, compliments me on the way i dress, obsesses over my baking, teases me about my grades, picks up on my moods. Insists on paying for me when we go out. One time i arranged a picnic for 28 people. And made a lot of food, when i told him that most people have bailed on me, he told me he wasn't sure he would make it either. But when i told him i was preparing a tray of my pastries for a male acquaintance, he immediately changed his mind and said he was coming. The guy i prepared the tray for is now pursuing me and i can't say im interested. He is a very good and accomplished guy. But he lacks sense of humour and sunny temperament. When i told my friend about him and how i made the guy think im interested in him by giving him homemade pastries. He said that is what i get for going around giving people a taste of my food. And i thought to myself, that ironically he was One of those people. Is he jealous and wants to be the only one to taste and eat my food? I dont know. Please enlighten me. Also when we first met i told him about who was to be my fiance, and how i was still in love with him. Now i don't know how i can backtrack from that. And show him that im emotionally avaliable and no longer hung up on my ex.

If he's arranging time to see you with get-togethers that's probably a good thing. He might like you.

He does but only when i text him. And He initiates texting only when i disappear for days.

Yes but it is like he remembers i exist and he needs to take me out only when i text him. If he was romantically interested in me, wouldn't he put more efforts?

I couldnt make it into a joke. I simply told him that i no longer had feelings for my ex. And that i couldn't click with the last man i went on a date with. And his response? Nothing. He read my message but has given me no response. 🥲
