How do I tell if he's romantically interested or not?

In general, how am I supposed to tell if a guy is romantically interested in me or not?

Does he spend time talking with you when you are upset? When you feel overwhelmed? Is he there to share the bad times with you as well as the good times? Do you feel that you are a priority in his life? Does he ever talk about your relationship with the assumption that it will be continuing into the future? Does he seem proud to introduce you to his friends and family? Does he invite you to spend time with his family?

I have given up on reading the signs at this point, if he can't get my hints and don't say so himself, i assume nothing even if its remembering my favourite drink or what i'm allergic too. I just wait for them to spit it out, they could just be overly nice.
