MSN era. What were your thoughts/memories?

MSN was the best messenger. I used it a LOT. It got replaced by Skype, which was worse. Then Skype got replaced by Teams, which was total garbage. Then there were all the other messenger services. None of the ones I tried were as good as MSN.

I've never tried Discord or FB messenger. I'll never try FB messenger because it's FB. I might try Discord some day.

I used Trillian for several years. It was multiprotocol. I could log into Trillian and it logged into multiple other messenger services. So I could talk to people on multiple services from one client. But one by one the other services quit allowing third party software to connect to their services.

We used to rush home from school just to talk to eachother over MSN

It was fun! I remember sending nudges to friends so they would reply and just always talking after school on there lol
I also used to talk shit about my "friend" and flirt with her crush on there since she was always flirting with the guys she knew I liked. She didn't know me and him were secretly friends and would always smile and make faces at each other in class and in the halls behind her back lol.

I miss the instant messengers but they also gave me problems. One time I was on MSN, and I got into a fight with a girl friend. (not a girlfriend) And neither one of us understood why we were offended. So I emailed her the conversation. She looked at it and realized that stupid MSN, wasn't sending me everything she was typing. That is why we were having a misunderstanding.

On AOL, I remember people asking me ASL, and wanting to exchange pictures. I remember sending a simple picture of myself and getting blocked for it. It made me feel ugly.

But I do miss the private conversations those programs provided.

I was hella young. I remember when it was still MSN Messenger, then Vista came out and it got changed to Windows Live Messenger. The pic you provided was the prime for real.

Barely remember it.
In fact I remember AIM more clearly... and I still remember my ICQ number. I did use MSN Messenger once, but I don't remember anything about it.

I still have it on my older pc. And yes i can still use it i found a patch file that makes it work in 2025 even for very old computers
