What good and bad memories does MSN Messenger bring you?

A lot of good memories, chatting with random people was still new to me, it was eye opening and I was very optimistic about most encounters.
But then 4chan, social medias and corps ensured that internet was ready for planetary consumption, at this moment then, I began to see the necessity of staying away from so many people and so many places, in order to have a good time on the internet. Before that, www was still a safe place, overall. Now, it can still be, and I do think that internet is still a wonder. But getting the best of it is now at the price of a lot of tedious filtering. I could enjoy, again, NOT having to do that lol
all bad really , i don't recall anything much good that came from using that site. i'd like try and talk to girls and it might go ok for a couple times then they'd always disappear.
i also recall a bunch of people added me from my high school , i didn't even like talk to them at school and they'd just like try and annoy me.
was wondering the other day what happened to this app , if anyone still uses it or if its been ended , know hotmail/outlook still is in use but not sure of MSN messenger ( checked google says it was ended in 2013 so has not been around for a while )
Never used it.
I did use icq a lot. Had so many friends from all over the world.
All with their own XFiles quote soundbite attached when their messages came in. If many people messaged at once the chain of quotes had me in hysterics. "It's Frohike, you punk @ss." Stands out the most in memory.
The MSN days were good. I don’t think I have anything bad to say about it tbh. I miss those days, when you’d sign in and you’d get a pop up when others signed in too. I miss the chats, the emoji faces, the sounds… good times

this is where I first learne abbreviations lol.
Used to think "brb" meant *burp* 💀
Probably where I started my online journey too lmfao
it had fun chat room feature, and we would always be logged-in so it was always there, just like your typical discord or slack. Today you use a group iMessage for casual talk between friends or partners.
We still have instant messaging apps similar to this one and similar to others like AOL & Yahoo Messenger. I don't understand why they were all removed in the USA.
I never used it. It came out in what 1999. From 1996 forward I was ICQ. By 2001 I was using TeamSpeak. Back before ICQ it was IRC chat rooms and bulletin boards.
Just talking non-stop bollocks to mates on MSN.
I can't remember much more than that. It's going back 20 years now.
You know? I never think about it. You have PTSD from MSN? Wasn't that back in the heyday of dialup?
Never had any use for messaging apps of any kind.
I remember they had a chatting. people were singing in singing room. It was amazing talent.
None, I was too young to use it in its heyday
I never used it. I used AOL.
I wish those days would come back :(
All the good memories
