The man told her parent (they’re both adults by the way) that if she ever wants to go on a walk in town he’s be willing to go with her. He also said he “wouldn’t try anything”
I also recently found out he told the parent that he’s been looking for a ‘nice girl’. This guy is over forty.
What response should I have if I’m the daughter here! Should I agree to go on a walk?

What Girls & Guys Said

Depends on what else is going on between them. I’ve been on walks with a guy I’ve known 20 years and it’s just a walk, even if I touch his arm for a second to point something out. But another guy I’ve known perhaps a year or so … sparks are always flying and everyone can apparently see them, so walking or being alone with him even for a moment is suddenly significant and open to too many unwelcome interpretations. Having said that, walking with him IS very pleasant… just it’s considered a “date.” The feelings are there and just crackling….
I barely know him. Plus I’d probably be shy because I am and then people will assume I’m trying to fuck him. Or he will.
He will what? Assume? Really?
Yeah he might think Oh she’s shy around me she wants me. Guys are overly egotistic.
He likes you and he sees the walk as a date. Do you like him too?
I have barely spoken to him so I’m not sure I’m ready to declare if I like him or not lol… I don't know if he’s even a good person. I’m surprised he didn’t just call it a date. Going on a walk sounds like friendship.
He means it as a date. Don't bother going unless you can see yourself maybe dating this guy in the future.
Gtg. Good luck! I think you should go unless he’s totally not your type.
Thanks. I am not sure if I have a very certain set type lol… but I don’t know if I’d be super attracted either to him.
Then give him a chance. See how it goes.
Thanks. Do you think a walk is low effort?
No. I think a walk is a great first date. Time enough for dinner if you like each other well enough for a second date.
That's so weird. Sounds like something a 14-year-old boy would say.
He’s almost fifty
He sounds more like fifteen. Has he ever been in a relationship?
He’s been married before
