What would you think if a girl invited you back to her place and when you got there it was worse than a pig pen?

I had a girlfriend that lived like that. The kitchen was a disaster area with plates with food still on then sitting on the table with flies and ants. She would do laundry and just pile the clothes on her bed. If she needed something clean to wear she went through the pile. She had a dog and she did not clean up after him.

It really did not bother me much at the time but I am sort of horrified at this.

How it didn't bother you then is astounding to me. But when we're in love we don't see people's flaws as much I guess. If a guy's place looked like what you described though, I probably would not still be with them or at the very least, not come over their house.

@Simslover92 Looking back there was a lot about her that i overlooked or just ignored because I was in love with her.
When the spell was broken I saw her as she really was. It was pretty weird.

I can understand that. That's what it was like with the guy I lost my vcard to. I didn't see any of his flaws until after the situationship was over with. I was so enamored by him that I didn't see the anger issues he had.

@midnightmoon05 She lived 1500 miles away and we only got to see each other 2 or 3 times a year. She really did not put much effort into the relationship. She did say that she loved me and we had talked about getting married once we got through college.
I flew out to see her. She showed up at the airport wearing a dirty hooded sweatshire. He hair was in some weird perm and it wa combed over to one side. She told me that she almost forgot that I was coming and she almost did not pick me up..
I would expect that if somebody was flying 1500 miles to see me that i would be thinking of nothing else for days.
All of a sudden I did not see her the same way. When people are dating they are supposed to be on their best behavior. If she was like this now , what would she be like after we got married.
I tried not to think about it but a few months later I made up my mind and on Saturday night after the rates went down I called her and broke up with her over the phone. I do not think that she was very broken up about it.

I dated a few girls’ that were slobs like that, and I eventually asked them if they needed help cleaning up , I wasn’t rude about it , I just asked them if they would like some help cleaning up their place , A lot of times I would just start cleaning without their permission , and once they realized how better their place looked after I cleaned up , they started to keep up with it. Whether they were doing it to appease me or did it for themselves , I didn’t question them about it. I guess if she didn’t change her ways , then that would be a turn off and something I would reconsider but they were beautiful girls’ so I didn’t make that big of a deal over it lol

I had a friend like that, minus the rotting food on the counter. She had more of a paper mess and piles of clothes laying everywhere. When I walked into her place I had to step over about 20 pairs of shoes 🤦 The worst was her bathroom, there was a 2" layer of hardened toothpaste in her sink. The mirror had toothpaste on it, a long with water spots, it was so gross. The good thing is it didn't smell bad, otherwise I would have left. Your question makes me wonder though, because she's a very pretty and sweet girl but is unlucky when it comes to dating. If I was a guy, I would have a hard time dealing with a slob.

This applies to women AND men. Messy is one thing. I don't mind messy. but DIRTY is something else again.

There is one room in someone's house that always HAS to be clean: the bathroom. This means the person cleans themselves and respects guests enough to have the bathroom clean for them.

If the bathroom isn't clean, that's it for me.

However, flies and ants and old food on the table and dishes in the sink means I would never return to that house. And, in the long run, I doubt I could continue to be friends. However, young men ignore such details because of sex.

Not the case with me. Clean is important.
