In long distance relationships when a guy refuses to talk to you via phone in front of family and friends is this a red flag and should I be worried?

It's just kind of strange that.
He wouldn't do it. Does he not want them to know?
Is he seeing somebody else and doesn't want his family to know about you? I mean, there's all kinds of. I've been in long distance relationships and and when they would call you answer the phone and say hello if you don't what anybody to know about you then there's a problem with that
