Is asking for me to message less in a long distance relationship basically breaking up?

My boyfriend and I have been together since February. Visiting has basically been one sided with me going to see him and usually it's been maybe once or twice a month, even though we live about 1 1/2 hours away...

We won't video call or visit often because he's studying for a once in a lifetime test. He doesn't want his dad riding him about our relationship as well... and yet he's apparently told him that he wants to marry me.

He's greatly dwindled in conversation over the past months and when I visit, I feel like he gets moody or sometimes on his phone a lot. He has a Facebook but won't add me... claiming that it's hostile for me if he did. And yet on my Facebook, my display picture has us together.

To add I'm the only one who says good morning and good night, and I love you... despite him being the first to make me say it.

Today he said that he's sorry he can't read and respond to all my messages, because he's studying most of the time. He said that we could schedule something.

Yet when I've tried to return prior calls a few minutes later, he doesn't answer. He's lol'd to the thought of me visiting before his test possibly in 2 weeks to the end of June... then after that, he's probably going to India for a month.

I don't know what to think. Is he just super focused or is he breaking up with me or doesn't care about me?
