Ware are these supposed men who are asking women out because in my experience I have always been the one doing the courting?

I get that it's scary and you could get rejected but I always here men talking about asking a women but I've never had a man ask me out I have always done the courting not that I'm good at it but I try. I'm actually going to try and ask my crush out tomorrow I have zero faith in him saying yes but at least I tried I suppose. I'm just saying it would be nice if just once I wasn't the one asking.

I can answer with some experience in that area, as many are afraid of misinterpreting a girl being 'friendly' as being just THAT...'friendly'... I have done just that, by being hesitant to ask a girl out when she seems friendly' and perhaps being 'rejected'.

I know several girls that I meet, in various places and circumstances, that are very friendly and talkative... and I dont' want to make the 'mistake' of reading too much into their simply being friendly as some kind of overture to asking them out

Some guys are shy. And it’s good that you are asking them. The advantage of you asking them is that you don’t ever have to wonder if they liked you and you also have the advantage to see your options and make choices yourself. However if men ask you, you don’t really get other options, you either say yes or no. Basically they chose you, but the only reason you chose them was because they asked you and your options are limited or none.

This is why more women SHOULD ask men out. I get it, most don't have to. But you relegate yourself to what approaches you if you don't.

Sometimes I wish more women understood or at least appreciated the avg. man's lot in the dating world. Most women ignore him (which is fine it only takes 1, the right one). But along with that is the fact that the majority of the women that DO show him interest is only doing it to game him, doing it for the attention. So just like women don't trust most guys motives, guys learn to not trust most women's motives.
It's unfortunate the dating world has become filled with such suspicion and distrust.

@ChiTown33 I mean I've only ever been the one to ask I'm asking the guy I have a crush on currently because I really like him he's a really timid shy man but he's so sweet and soft spoken I'm always so excited to see him even though he has low self esteem.
