Why is $20 to much to spend on a first date?

I don’t know what kind of people who said that $20 is too much, like that even just regular amount to spend for myself alone for myself every night for dinner, while live in Asia (TWD700) . And my husband spent over than (TWD15.000) on the first date. So I confused where those people come from who said that $20 is too much.

Well a coffee is like $7 each. I never believed in the expensive dinner & drinks on a date. People dont date right anymore. First date should be a coffee, ice cream, a walk in the park etc where you can talk.
