Why would a 25 year old guy try to date a 19 year old girl? Does this mean he can’t get women his age? He constantly fish for compliments?

Normally from what I’ve seen and experienced with men looking for younger women, it’s because sometimes they have toxic habits that women their age can recognize. I know now that I’m older, I was very naive when I was your age and unfortunately was very hopeful around love and trusting which made me a perfect prey for someone who’s a cheater, who was manipulative, he would check my phone but I couldn’t check his for example. He would have “friends”, there were many things I overlooked and that came to bite me in my ass when I realized that this man even tried contacting my friends and was the biggest cheated and was super controlling. I think if you’re thinking of dating an older man, I think 3 years max. But yes, it’s usually because women their age know the red flags and will put them in their place. As far as constantly fishing for compliments, I believe it shows he’s desperate for approval and it kind of shows that the communication is self-centered, which can be ingenuine depending on how much he talks labor himself or prioritizes asking these kinds of questions.

I used to ask myself the same question


When I was 19 it seemed like every girl was dating a guy 5 or 6 years older and all I could think about was
“Can’t you millennial losers date girls your own age and leave something for the rest of us?”


Now that I’m 27 I see which of my friends shoot for younger and which don’t and the pattern is there


The ones constantly looking to date a 19 year old are in fact insecure about a girl their age seeing through them as being uninteresting or unattractive
They think the younger girl will be taken away by her first taste of adulthood freedom she won’t notice the details

But it’s still sad even from this side of the equation


Date whoever you want but honestly guys your own age are underrated a lot of the time
