Strong attraction but different intentions—would you still pursue her? The girl resists even when there’s strong chemistry?

So I’m seeing a guy who said from the start he doesn’t date for marriage. I told him I want something serious, but I can’t help being attracted to him emotionally and physically. He flirts, compliments me, touches me but I try to hold my boundaries. He also pulls back sometimes, like not texting me after a night together.
I like him a lot, besides being that version, he’s also sweet, flirty, and there’s strong chemistry, but I know we want different things. And he knows I’m trying to hold my boundaries.

My question is for you, guys, if a girl is clearly into you and you see that, but also sets limits despite the feeling, does that make you more interested or do you back off cause she is too complicated? He told me I was complicating my life and basically “fighting against myself” because he knows I like him or whatever.

If her boundaries are clearly communicated I’ll respect them. Now depending on the chemistry and situation I may test those boundaries and see if they are still valued but if she has certain limits I wouldn’t go over that line. And yes, there have been times when someone told me her boundaries and in the heat of the moment said she was ok going beyond but I stopped because I wanted her to be solid in her decisions and not feel guilt after.
I have to trust that she was honest with her boundaries and not saying them out of insecurity or fear.

My fear is that if I approach that person too much, I might end up falling really hard for him which is not something I would want. He doesn’t want marriage, I date for marriage. But he told me once that he loves to push the boundaries and I told him it wasn’t going to happen. I don’t know what is playing but my question is, is there a possibility that he will pursue me more if I resist ( which I’m not doing on purpose, it’s for my own safety) will he leave or stay?

That depends on the guy whether he will stay or leave if you resist, and also what you mean by resist. He already clearly told you that you may not have firm boundaries so he may think the marriage rule isn’t set in stone. But longer term it sounds like to me that although he told you clearly he’s never getting married, you are falling for him and trying to figure out how to persuade him to change his mind. If that’s not the case then let me know.
