Why do women flirt more with everyone else right before launching a relationship?

I have a friend who three weeks ago suddenly seemed like she was into me. Had been texting me more often than usual, ran into her at a party, seemed like she was kinda following me around, flashed me a <3 with her hands while we were playfighting, two days later she asked to hang out (which is the first time she's ever asked to hang out alone together, and she's turned down my previous invitations to parties).

Then she cancelled, and tonight I met the new boyfriend. Not the first time that basically this scenario has happened in my life. What gives?

A lot of young chicks do that stuff. She was either looking for validation from you or an ego boost, or maybe even using you as someone to help her get over another guy you may or may not have known anything about. Then suddenly she got interested in someone else entirely, which is the boyfriend you said you met.

The worst part about these kinds of girls is that if you were to ever try to confront them about how they seemed to be into you, they will just tell you it was all in your head, you were the one who got the wrong idea, etc., and then they'll try to distance themselves and act like you did something wrong. Even though deep down you know you are not wrong or crazy about what she was doing, and she knows what she was doing as well.

The only thing I can really say is in the end she showed you who she really is and that she's not a girl you want to link up with. You are actually dodging a bullet, and all the girls who have done this to you are blessing you with more wisdom and avoiding pain. Imagine what she might do with this new boyfriend later on down the road.
