Yes. People tend to prefer to date people in a similar pay bracket because it reflects education level and general social level. People want to date people who will fit in with their friends and family. They don't want someone who can't keep up with the level of conversation around the dinner table.

To a majority of men it doesn’t matter for a few reasons. One most of us have been taught (conditioned) to take care of women, which includes finances. Most men actually don’t mind it if they can afford it. Two, a majority of women tend to want a man who makes as much as her or more because a lot of times they still exist t him to take care of a majority of the bills. I don’t think I know of one woman who has ever gone into a relationship ship who was ok w taking care of 95% of the bills. You always hear women say his money is our money, my money is my money. So no to a majority of men it doesn’t matter. It’s actually turn off to a lot of women if they’re the ones having to foot the bill for a majority of things. Many women tend to look at men like that as cheap. The same goes for her education. If she’s cute, hot, loving, a good wife, good mother that’s what he really looks at. Most men don’t go home to talk rocket science to their girl. Sure you may talk about things in society but it isn’t a big component in mate selection for men. It’s usually the opposite of what women find attractive in men. You being rich, having your own house, your own car, a college degree, those things aren’t really a turn on when it comes to men as far as what we look at. If I’m being honest, a lot of men will say her career or education matters a lot cause if he was honest about it she’d have nothing to do w him. So yes he has to lie to her.

I think for most men, we don't really care how much they make, if they don't make much that's fine, as a guy you'd want to provide anyways. What I think we dislike is if she's not doing anything at all, bumming around at home, I think this applies both ways though.

If she makes more than me, that's great too, I will feel significantly less pressured or burdened should the relationship move forward.

I think, if the man is not serious then a woman's income might matter to him, but if and when he is serious about the relationship and is thinking about a future together then only behaviour matters.

A little. Sometimes a guy (or a girl) can’t afford all the bills. Even if it’s a small income, sometimes it’s need to provide just the basics.
