This question doesn't need to be explained. If people were not confusing then this website wouldn't exist.

Because you're likely trying to get them to fit in the box you've created for them.

I used to have expectations for people when I was younger and found myself frequently disappointed when people did not live up to those expectations. Life got infinitely easier when I learned to stop doing this and just deciding what i would accept/tolerate from people.

I've said many times I have thousands of acquaintances but friends I can count on one hand. Because I'm a friendly, cordial person. But the word friend really means something to me. And the reality is most people I meet will NEVER make the cut.

Stop trying to understand everyone. Just know what you're willing to tolerate/accept. You'll live a much happier life.
