I’m so confused?

So! I’ve been talking to this man since I was 19. I am now 24. Some background information. He is 2 years older than me and i met him my freshman year of college. He became my person, i have been in contact with him CONSTANTLY every year since & when he attended school with me, it was clear that was my person! He does not live in my state he lives about 4 hrs away. I’ve been veryyy intimate with him for 5 years but I don't know where we stand. I’m sure he knows I literally love him and I’ve grown with him but he doesn’t communicate emotions with me. When he did graduate, he did start to come down to my hometown to see me every year for my bday. I talk to him everydayyyyyy and at one point he even told me i can’t be with anyone else. But since, he has not dropped any hints if he’s even interested in moving forward. Why has he kept entertaining me for so long and making constant efforts to see me and talk to me but cannot tell me how he feels?
ivr been contemplating cutting him off for years as we’re not progressing, it just seems to be we’re growing closer friends with benefits. But when does it stop? lol 5 years is so longgggg. I should end this connection?

Besides him not expressing his emotions, we have a really good relationship. He has become my go to for everything 😂😂 I would not travel 4 hrs often to be with someone I don’t at least care about.

You should come right out and tell him how you feel about him and ask how he feels about your relationship. Ask him how he feels toward you.

You can't just keep going along forever without knowing. Maybe he needs a push. Or maybe he isn't interested in settling down.

Don't just cut him off before you find out. If he is not interested in a future with you, THEN move on. But don't waste any more of your life.

You cannot/will not tell him how you feel about him either, so take some responsibility. FIVE YEARS without having that discussion is just beyond crazy to me.
