Anonymous(45 Plus)1 moI don’t know of one man that likes clingy women. As a matter of fact that would be the reason why he would dump her. When it comes to relationship men don’t like to be alone but we like to be alone. Probably doesn’t make sense to you. But no, being clingy is a red flag. The only time men like a girl who’s clingy is when she’s clinging onto his thunder down under.

1 moI don’t think men I general like clingy women I know I didn’t like that shit when I was out there looking for women I need my space not someone to be all over me wanting shit all the time although I love my wife and I’ll do and give her whatever she wants from me whenever she wants it. If possible. Shit it gets annoying when my dog or my car are like that.. However if a guy is like that he’s probably not sure of himself very insecure and probably has low self-esteem or is very new to the dating scene. A guy like that will be tooken advantage of real quick. Remember nice guys finish last if they finish at all.

1 moIs this only a "man" thing? Who enjoys clingy? Someone who has no other interest than you and being with you? Isn't that suffocating?
And what's up with someone who wants to be suffocated? They need someone helpless to make them feel big and strong?
Doesn't sound particularly healthy. Better to have two people coming together from positions of independence and strength, wouldn't you say?20 Reply
Yeah, it’s confusing because most guys like affectionate, not full-on clingy—they want attention, but still need space to breathe. It’s about balance, not extremes.

What Girls & Guys Said
Opinion

2K opinions shared on Dating topic. No man wants a clingy woman. Many men want a woman who likes to be physically close and likes physical affection, and they assume that this is what you are talking about when you say "clingy", but no man wants a girl who won't leave him alone or expects him to check in every 2 minutes or whatever. That's unbearable.
Few girls want a clingy man either. Being clingy is a sign of serious insecurity, and maybe even mental illness. It's not an attractive quality in anyone.

1 moIt's all about balance. I'd rather my partner is clingy than not interested in spending time with me at all. It's nice to know that your presence is desired.
But everyone needs their own space and time to recharge. Everyone needs to be able to spend time pursuing their interests or hobbies and just be in their own head space with no distractions.01 Reply- 1 mo
But males hate spending time with women.
3.1K opinions shared on Dating topic. Because you are dating guys’ that act like some girls’ do. basically they say they want something, so when they receive it , they change their minds and don’t want it anymore , I had my fair share of girls’ that did that shit and that’s why they are my exes

1 moClingy can feel good in moderation. When it's excessive as in, you can't watch what you wanna watch, talk to people, or do anything without her inserting herself in the middle of it or demanding it be to her taste... that's when she's basically not letting me be me anymore.
And we all know she'll lose respect and cheat if we rollover and just conform and accept it... so it's basically turning something that's okay in moderation and turning it into a huge shit test.
The good of clingy women, is it just lets you know you're wanted... that can be done without becoming controlling.00 Reply

Most men say they like clingy women but what they really mean is they like a woman who shows love who checks in who makes them feel wanted. Most men want affection not control. We want love not pressure. But when it crosses into feeling like we can’t breathe or like every moment has to be accounted for that’s when it becomes too much.A lot of guys like the idea of clingy until they experience the real thing. It’s all about balance. Affection feels good when it’s natural not when it feels like pressure.

1 moWho says they Like clingy? It's similar to saying no I like annoying. If it wasn't annoying then I you wouldn't call it that. You would say I like a woman that is into me all the time. You wouldn't say I like clingy it has a connotation that is inherently negative.

1 moThe only reason that I can think of are frequent texts during working hours while I am trying to accomplish the day. This is a massive annoyance for Me but anything else is alright. As long as You Me handle My business in life with work it's not clingy,... It's just Loyal and I admire that!
00 Reply805 opinions shared on Dating topic. I think each gender has their own view of what being clingy means. Though I can see it appearing to be weird for a guy to be clingy than a girl. To me they are going to naturally be more so even though most guys will just view it as being more affectionate

1 moI don’t mind clingy girls, all it means is that they enjoy being around you. However there needs to be a limit as to how clingy, a guy needs a little private time periodically as I’m sure a girl does as well

@heruncommonsense we will never understand some people. When I was deployed I missed mine so much so when I’d get back to port I used to love when she’d be on the pier waiting for me. She was very clingy and I loved it. It’s such a deep sign of true love when you have someone that wants to be around you so much that you can feel the love. That’s just me though.

a lot of women say they want a good man but then bring him a lot of stress and drama. You say you wNt a good man but present yourself as wanting to stay single by looking like you just rolled out of bed at 4pm or a back alley street hooker. You say you want a good man but say he's controlling when he doesn't want you going to the club or getting wasted every weekend. You say you want a good man but avt like your presence is enough. - 1 mo

Clingy means you don't get no damn space for your own and I don't care who you are if you someone is constantly around you or calling you it will get seriously annoying very quick.01 Reply- 1 mo

@WhitneySnow you're right except "there's clingy" and then there's "irritating" - same goes for a man who's nerdy or humble - it's refreshing in small acts, irritating and turn-offing in large surely large acts "he has like no initiative - he doesn't even lead" - he doesn't even pick the movie or what we should visit for a destination travel etc.
It's those extremes lol 😆 or those pisstakes - 1 mo
@WhitneySnow so in my advancing years, ladies without having to experience it, I feel for y'all who complain when a otherwise catch of a guy "ultimately shows they can't even pick where to go for dinner or where to live, let alone what tie to pick" gee lol
Anonymous(25-29)1 moClingy would be fine in someway but not others. It depends on the guy and what actions are taking place. I need to have some personal freedom, but I wouldn't mind some aspects of a clingy girl.

It's the equivalent for women who eventually tire if their man "shows zero confidence - I mean zero" - nobody wants someone who's 100 percent insecure. Some insecure + some humility - in 100s though, surely she'd turn off and look elsewhere 👀 same goes for women and clingy. There's playful, enjoyable, ; and then there's irritating, clueless, get off my chops lol 🥩🥩😆
