Flaking on First Date, after Only Green flags?

I have been talking to a guy everyday for about 2 months (we matched on dating app). He travels a lot for his full time job and is also a full time student, me being a grad student as well our schedules are all over the place.

However, we were finally supposed to have our first date last week, and he had to cancel last minute. He asked me for a different day to see me the following week. The day of, we still hadn’t really confirmed so I sent him a follow up asking about if he had a time in mind, but I never heard from him. It has been 4 days of silence now.. I was really sad and disappointed because this is so out of character. He has shown nothing but green flags and then all of a sudden disappears when he was the one to ask me out. I don’t understand. I also sent him a message today expressing my disappointment, and he didn’t say anything.

I would move on and not respond to any future messages unless he has a valid reason for ghosting you. But tbh the other commenter is right, that’s very common on dating apps. 😭

in my opinion people who ghost are cowards. I hope you know that you’ve made a good decision. Please don’t let him back in if he reaches out to you. You can message me anytime if you ever need it.

How can you see green flags from a dating app? That in itself is one huge red flag.

There are many people (even some I know) that have found their partners from dating apps. For him specifically, I noticed green flags in terms of:
- communication
- emotional maturity
- thoughtful conversation rather than dry

As I mentioned we had been talking for 2 months, enough time to actually learn a lot about each other.
