Is 50 too old for a man to have kids?

It depends on the 50 year old. If they're fit and capable (which a lot of 50 year olds are), then yeah they can have kids. It's not a very common scenario, but based on the dating world right now, I think there will be a really big increase in the amount of men having kids later in life in the future. Many women are undateable and unapproachable nowadays.

Nope. Average life expectancy of males is like mid 70s, so at 50 you can easily raise several children to adulthood and either get them through college, a trade school, or into the military to provide them a foundation for starting a life. That said there are men that die younger, due to war, crime, substance abuse, suicide, accidents, genetic issues, etc. and men that live much longer. Many guys that die in their mid 70s have health issues like high blood pressure in their 30s and 40s, so those men who have no real health issues in their 40s or even 50s will probably live far past their 70 maybe until their 90s or beyond. You obviously have to determine what sort of health you are in and how stable your life is in general before you have children.

Biologically any 50 year old could get you pregnant


But if you want a father for your kids in the long run he needs to be somewhat youthful

exactly... you need the energy to take care of kids. they're a lot of work. and you'd be doing this for many years so you also need to have the life span too

If he is healthy, he CAN have kids at 80 with around a 35% chance. 50 is fine. However, someone can be in their mid 20s, obese, 100+ pounds overweight, diabetes, in poor health, and they shouldn't have kids because they are already likely to die early, whil others that exercise, avoid drugs and alcohol, etc. are perfectly fins having/raising kids at an older age. It all depends on their health, genetics, and habits.

Depends on the couple I guess. For most men probably too old. My dad was in his early 30s when he had me. Treated me like shit most of my life and today I don't have a relationship with him. Don't think it matters what age, it's more about if he's even suited for kids. No man should be having kids if they aren't excited to be a dad and eager to teach fatherly advice to their kids. Kids aren't for everybody including women.

For me it would be. I would want to be youthful enough to be able to be there for my kids and active enough to have adventures and memories with them. Lets face it by 50 most guys are on the downhill part of their lives.

yea honestly, as a woman, i hope to be retired by 50, travel the world with my husband. i wouldn't want to be stuck in a house chasing kids all day.

65 is when the kid is born, early 70s is when most people die.

even if he doesn't die by 70, he's not gonna be able to parent properly cuz he's too old. he might be retired and not have the money to raise the kid. The kid will miss out on so many things like his daddy teaching him to ride a bike, traveling, hiking. The kid likely won't be able to attend college either. his dad can't pay for it.

He's not as libel to cheat on her, hurt her or treat her badly, he's got a lot more experience in bed, knows how to "scratch where it itches", cares for her and loves her more than the younger guys. She's gonna be more of a cherished prize to him than just another girl to stick his dick into. He'll take better care of her. And, any guy that knows she's only after him for his money SHOULD drop her like a hot brick!
