6 moThe answer to that is simply yes… If you make plans with someone you consistently show up on time or early however… The other person tends to take his time. Without a good reason it’s one thing if shit happens outside of your control.
If someone’s not putting effort back it’s easy to assume they either aren’t that interested and/or just a one sided person. That’s a good way to test to see if someone’s even that interested. If they’re showing up late without good cause and it’s always excuses maybe they don’t even offer a exclamation. Just move on. It’s just not worth it

6 moI’d say mostly agree, but with nuance.
Punctuality usually shows someone cares enough to respect your time.
It signals intention, interest, and basic emotional maturity.
But… life happens.
A person can be genuinely into you and still run late because of work, traffic, or just being a naturally chaotic human.
So the real truth is this
Consistency matters more than punctuality.
If someone is late once, it’s whatever.
If someone is always late but never makes an effort, that’s a sign they’re not prioritising you.
Punctuality is a clue.
Consistency is the story.10 Reply
6 moIf they got adhd, add it is not so simple so you can't say they don't have interest if they can't make it on time. Could be something else too happening that they have had no control over.
My partner always showed up before we agreed so I never know what it is like to wait for him and even though I was on time I would feel myself blush as him always being there before I was made me think he was more hot than usual. If I was late he was still there and had a casual attitude about it. Not once been irritated. I apologized of course, a lot. He was still just laid back about it.

6 moNo, punctuality is courtesy and a sign of respect as a minimum requirement. Interest may be there, but even if it's not and you're just performing a duty, you make a commitment so you honor it, you don't waste other people's time.
And then there are the situations that few people can relate to but others live and die by. Punctuality can be a life and death thing for those in the military. Life for you and death for the other guy can flip in an instant if someone fails to show up on time and do their job.

6 moI would say yeah. When you're punctual with someone, it shows you respect their time and you don't want to let them down. I will say that the one exception is if you're constantly communicating with them and updating them where you are before arriving if you're coming late.

u 6 moDisagree. Attending to punctuality seems to be more of a character trait than an expression of interest in a particular person or activity.

6 moDepends on the person... I have known a female or two that make it their thing to be fashionably late... or they think so at least.
being on time is one of those super important things anyone that can read a clock can do. Heck a chicken can't read a clock they still crow before the sun. Ready to get after it. Early bird gets the worm...10 Reply2.1K opinions shared on Dating topic. Of course
But it’s also a sign that the road was clear
Sometimes tardiness depends on outside factors
And yes you could technically leave earlier but let’s face it, busy people don’t plan out their days with time margins to spare
I would say just by giving someone my time to begin with I am interested
If I wasn’t we wouldn’t even be meeting.10 Reply- 8.9K opinions shared on Dating topic.
6 momaybe it's cause i'm german but to me that's not a sign of interest. that's a sign of having basic human decency and barely having your shit together. like if you're not interested, don't meet. wtf. why be late?
20 Reply 3.7K opinions shared on Dating topic. No, it's a sign of courtesy and respect for the person's time you are meeting. I don't see how interest fits in there.
20 Reply735 opinions shared on Dating topic. My nephew Tindered some girl up while he was in another country. She was two hours late but he stuck it out. She was late due to an emergency, like a real one. Anyway they are now married and have a kid and a house.

6 moShowing up is a sign of interest. Who cares if you're a few minutes late? As long as you show up and get all your work done. If you didn't wanna be there, why would you even BOTHER to show up?
