How do I ask out the barista at my local coffeeshop without being creepy?

Be direct a lot of people make things a lot weirder by dropping hints, playing games, giving subtle cues, testing the waters, trying to flirt, etc. Someone whose interested in you will say yes and if not… you can move on being glad you didn’t make things weird and awkward.

Remember it’s her job to be nice if she’s rude to customers (yes even creeps) she can get into trouble even fired because a lot of people will call the manager and complain.

Even if it feels awkward just ask her out. Be direct that you like her and see if she will go out. Then see from there hee response. If she says yes it’s a go… if she says no move on… and if she doesn’t give a direct answer the balls in her court you made your move if she’s interested it’s on her. Then eventually move on

Hard call. I would be very reluctant to ask someone out who works in a public-facing position like that, as they probably get hit on all the time.

That said, I was at a Wendy's once when this guy just goes up and asks the cashier for her number (and got it), and I was filled with admiration for the guy for having the 'nads to do that.

The key is to make the request brief, non-intrusive, and easy for them to reject without awkwardness.

Don't do it. They get asked out a hundred times a day. They have stalkers who come in for a coffee every day and sit there and stare. Most of them have boyfriends but have to be overly-friendly for their job and tips. If one of them is interested in you, she'll let you know, she'll write her number on your cup or something like that.
