Is my barista interested in me?

I go to my usual local coffee shop and my interest in my barista is kind of growing here! I haven't gone to this place for a while until a couple of weeks ago... I go 2-3 times a week now.

Anyways, 3 days ago when I ordered my drink we made small talk.. he asked me how my day was, when I was getting my paper cup holder he leaned over the counter asking me what my major was... he's always smiling and I can't help but to get butterflies in my stomach. When I walk in every time now, and I feel myself smiling automatically. I feel like such a dork!

When I went in today, I don't know if it was in my head but I sensed his face bright up a bit when I walked in. Lol when I handed him my debit card my finger accidentally touched is...again, felt like a dork! I couldn't help but continually smile when I walked out the door.

He's almost always making side comments/small talk... and now I make sure that I have good body posture to help exude my confidence, smile, etc.

Is he just being good at customer service or is there a possibility that he's actually interested in me? What in particular should I pay attention to next time to see if there's any interest present at all? Would it be creepy to have my study session for a few hours there? I don't want to make it obvious that I'm showing up much more often now, I think he can probably tell that I have a teeny crush on him.

As in most hospitality jobs, being friendly and striking up casual conversation is standard. That doesn't really mean that he's not into you though, so you should try and test the water a bit. Maybe go in for an hour or so to study during a quiet part of the day and see if he takes an interest in what you're doing. If you want to get closer, I think you will need to try initiating more conversations and whatnot to gauge his interest.

I doubt he can openly hit on you at work because it can be seen as inappropriate by his manager and fellow staff, but if you approached him to say hi then it's all fair game. Say you want to try a new drink and ask him to recommend something to you, I don't know lol - try and make it fun!
