How do I let a guy know that I don’t want to talk to him anymore?

Last week, I gave a guy my number who I met while out in public. I wasn’t sure yet if I wanted to date him but he seemed kinda interesting so I wanted to try chatting with him to see if things could work out between us.

But I’ve already realized I have no interest in him. The conversations are very boring (only small talk, such as asking how my day is going) along with him showing red flags already. (Won’t give me an answer when I ask if he lives alone, has talked about his ex a lot.)

We’ve never talked on the phone, only texted, if that matters.

You weren’t sure…. You entertained the idea. After all you just met you don’t have all the answers yet.

You have some valid concerns not answering questions. I mean he’s not legally required to… no (for the asshats who will say that) but it’s weird after a certain point to not know this stuff. Him saying he lives with his mom is better then saying nothing. I digress.

But even if he’s a straight shooter honest about everything. If you waste your time you’re hurting yourself AND….. him as well. Be honest but respectful. Just tell him that you don’t feel like there is a connection and that you don’t want to waste his time or yours. That you appreciate his effort and you wish him well.

Does this mean you’re bad? No. Does it make him bad? Not necessarily. You’re just not right for one another. If there was genuine interest chances are the conversations wouldn’t have been so dry.

The part about living with someone: He asked if I have my own place. I told him I’m living with my mom at the moment but am moving out in 2 weeks.

So I asked him the same question, whether he has his own place. He replied with “Kind of”. I asked what that means and he said he’s “trying to figure things out”.

So that’s hypocritical and typical of people like this. They feel entitled to a exclamation from you but won’t answer the same questions.

I mean…. If you’re living with your mother and he’s living with his. Who cares…. The issue is him being dishonest. Everyone’s trying to figure it out when they’re young. Whether they live alone or not

The best way to do it , is just lie a little and say you are seeing someone else, and say we are best not to chat anymore , out of respect for my partner , and he more than likely will get the hint that you are not interested in him and he more than likely will leave ya alone , I know lying is stupid , but in situations like this , it’s the best thing to do , because the other ways do not work most times , you don’t have to be rude to him , just make it clear to him about being respectful to your imaginary boyfriend lol

I honestly tried every nice way to tell one guy I’m done trying to talk to him. I asked him those my number… he didn’t. I made space for months. First time he saw me again he was flattering and courteous for a few weeks then reverted back to his usual self… till finally said I would lose his number… and have been ignoring him.

It's the worst feeling in the world when you don't know who you're actually talking to, because you can't hear their voice to me. That's a big red flag

But you just be honest and say , hey , you're moving on , you don't need to give them explanation , you've already explained it probably too many times and if they can't hear you , they can't hear you , they never will

So I guess the next best thing is just to ghost them and just ignore them because sometimes they don't give up.
But they also. Understand they can make it easy for you. And believing in who they are just by a couple , simple things

You give him the grace you would want from him if your situations were reversed. You tell him how you feel and why, in a polite adult manner. IF he acts like an ass then block him and move on with your life. It's a good lesson for both of you moving forward. Good luck and happy turkey day!
