Is this worth the drama?

I’ve been seeing this guy for about two months now. Things have been great, but he tells me that he has a crazy, ex that is stalking and harassing him. I start getting numerous back to back phone calls and when I look up the phone number in his phone, it’s his “crazy ex”.

I call the ex and text her asking if she could give me a call. She asks who I am. I tell her my name and she says she thinks I have the wrong number. I tell her that she’s been calling me all night.

She apologizes and tells me that for the past year and a half she’s been getting complaints from multiple women saying that she has called them when she hasn’t and believes her phone number is being spoofed. When I tell her that the guy I’m seeing says that she’s been stalking him, she tells me that she ghosted and had him blocked since February 2024 after finding out he was already involved with someone. She also says that she’s ghosted moved out of state (a state that is 1000+ miles away) back in April 2025. She additionally reveals that he will be 40 next year (he told me he was 31 and I suspected that he was lying about his age).

Who should I believe? Should I dump this guy?

If you like and value the guy enough then it’s ok to try things out with him for a bit longer and see if drama comes up.


However the fact that he’s warning you about her is a red flag. It means he’s allowing the drama into his life. On some level it’s appealing to him even if he’s complaining about it. If that’s the case, remove yourself from the drama.


EVERYONE has an ex. You’re most likely the “crazy ex” to them and they are to you. 🤷🏻‍♀️

She moved far away, blocked him a long time ago, and has nothing to gain by lying to you. Meanwhile, he lied about something huge like his age and tried to paint her as a “crazy ex” right before you started getting those calls — which is a classic tactic people use when they’re hiding something. You’ve only been seeing him for two months, and this much drama this early isn’t normal. You deserve someone honest and steady, not someone creating chaos. It’s okay to trust your gut and leave.

I wouldn't stay involved it's only going to get worse. How would she even have your number? They are probably still seeing each other. I'd back off before I got hurt.
