Is new years eve a good first date idea?

I've known this girl since about the start of this year, and by now, i think we really like eachother. We interact often as we both work in stores close to eachother in a mall.

My plan is to ask her out on Christmas day, asking if she would like to spend new years eve together, if she doesn't have other plans. We have never met eachother or talked outside of our mall we both work in.

Is new years eve a good first date for someone you've known/liked for roughly a year?

As a first date? Most people already have plans with family or friends on that day and would feel bad skipping out on that to go on a first date with someone. A date on new years is more like a date that happens after being in the relationship for years, when they'd choose chilling with you over family and loved ones.

I personally wouldn’t spend NY with someone I don’t know well. That’s a day you want to celebrate either with friends or family. I would leave the date for another day.

I met somebody at a New Years party and we dated for a few months after that but I do not think it is a good first date. Too much pressure and too much crazy stuff going on. I like a nice quiet time so I can get to know her.

Asking her out on Christmas Day is a horrible idea. I’m just going to venture a guess that she will be preoccupied with plans for the holiday.

Second is most people have plans made for New Year’s at that point. Your odds are likely greatly decreased.

If you know now that you both (potentially) like each other, don’t wait. That way you can date a bit before the holidays and make plans well in advance to be together New Year’s Eve. Even then, it’s not a lock. Some people have yearly traditions.
