Your relatively young. Adults don't really just talk and cuddle for a first date, unless it's a sex date.

I am 46, I do walks in the park for a first date, any time after 10 AM, weather depending. It's pretty low threat for first date, yet it can be some what intimate.

I avoid dinner dates.

Set the time to the event. I. e. go to top golf at night and hiking during the day. If you have chemistry you can make any event work, but in general I'd recommend an activity based event such as mini golfing.
